As an experiment with the concept of screencasts, I started used [Jing by TechSmith].
[Update: There is now a Pro version of Jing that records in MP4 format]
Jing will record what is happening on screen and with sound. It can capture still screen grabs which can be annotated and it can upload the results the a hosting service such as Screencast.com, Flickr or ones own FTP server. I wanted to see if I could use its movies on my own site but using Sandvox to manage the videos.
The movies are high resolution so the file sizes can get large very quickly. Jing saves the recording as a SWF Shockwave Flash animation file. The movie will play in any browser that has the Abode Flash plug-in installed.
The way I added the SWF Flash video file in Sandvox is:
1. I added a Photo Album Collection page (named: Screencasts):
Site > Add Collection > Photo Album
2. In the Photo Album Collection, I added a Video page (named: Sandvox - Show Package Content): Site > Add Page > Video
3. In the Inspector for this new page, click the button Choose... below words Movie Source: From File and select the SWF file. Just pick the file -- no settings are needed.
Jing, which is currently free, is available here:

To play the SWF files that I have saved out of Jing, I have found the best player to be iSwiff, which is free, and available here:
